Wrap It Up: It’s Over, You’re Cancelled, 2017.

2017 is coming to an end. Time sure just flies by, doesn’t it? There were certainly lots of ups and downs this year.

My IG's best nine

To be honest, I don't feel like writing about much about the downs because it's mostly about me being mentally unstable and depressed. Not surprisingly, writing about it is depressing and so does reading about it. Thus, I shall spare you my dark side. However, if you're interested in getting to know my sick mind, have a read over here.

Onward and upward to a few good happenings this year:
  • Long-distance relationship sure is a bitch, but my boyfriend and I are now together for over a year. Despite being apart most of the year, we were still able to make it work - no piece of cake I'm telling you, but fuck yeah, did we excel at overcoming difficult hurdles! ✊  It's a constant struggle and bittersweet, particularly given how I am mentally - it was very difficult - but with him, I'm able to be my vulnerable self and let my guard down completely - a side I don't think I rarely ever show to anybody - so I know this relationship is special.   It's over.
  • Reuniting with Jojo and Nick in Phuket and Bangkok. Good times is an understatement! So much delicious vegan food was devoured - obviously!
  • On the 1st of May, I adopted Leia 💝  She's quite a character - a complete opposite of Nala who is always chill.
  • An incredible trip to Ninh Bình with my boyfriend. I can't recommend visiting this place enough! Don't believe me? Read about our trip here - just one post for now, but more to come 😄
No new year's resolutions for me, but if you have any, I hope you'll be able to achieve them or at least keep them up for a month or two, okay? 😉

That's a wrap! Thanks for reading 😸

Explore Norhern Vietnam - Day 1 In Ninh Bình

After over eight months, I was finally able to reunite with my boyfriend 😁  We didn't get to travel during his last visit because I'd just moved into my flat, so things were a bit hectic then. Thus, this time, we tried to fit in a travel plan to the North.

Chosen destination: Ninh Bình 💚

VGang in Phuket: Honourable Mentions

Welcome to the finale of Vegan Food Adventure in Phuket! The finale features honourable vegan eats that did not make it the top roundup in my last Phuketpost hehe. It would have been an overwhelming post if I had squeezed all the food in one post, so this seems more reasonable.

Check out previous episodes here: Episode 1 and Episode 2.

VGang ate a lot of food during Phuket Veg Fest. I took a new writing approach to my last post about my top picks from the trip first (idea credit: Nick 💁 ). This one, I dedicate this post to the rest of the good stuff 😁

Vegan Gang Taking Over Phuket Vegetarian Festival

And we're back for another episode of Vegan Food Adventure In Phuket!

This year, Phuket Vegetarian Festival went on from the 20th to 28th of October. I arrived on the 22nd - an interesting arrival 😅 , which I talked about in my last post here.

First Phuket post was mainly storytelling. This post right here, however, is all about food-telling 😋

Gearing Up For Phuket Vegetarian Festival!

Hello there!

I just got back from a brilliant trip to Phuket attending Phuket Vegetarian Festival for the first time! It was heaven, absolute heaven! Well, the weather was hot, which is never my favourite, but hey, I'm cool as long as the food is good, and boy, was it!

I'm splitting this Phuket trip into a couple of posts.

I had quite an experience travelling to Phuket for the first time. This post is about this experience - not much food going on, but it was quite an interesting journey, so read on if you're curious. If not, wait for Part 2 where I will focus on my vegan food adventure more 😊

A Post About Nothing: Mental

I've been slacking with this blog again. I know. My apologies. I do realise that I did not have anything up last month.

I was having a rough time mentally and trying to take a break from it all. Even with Instagram, I wasn't using it for a short period. Social media is great, but it's addictive and can suck you right in there. IG is the only platform that I stay active on, so it's become a habit to check it every chance I get, which means all the time!

Vegan in Ho Chi Minh City: Halo

If you've read my previous post, then you know that I am now an intern, and more specifically, for an online magazine. I said it was meh. And nope, I ain't here to retract this statement. I'm here to say that I'm thankful for this internship. Now, I'm thankful not for the experience, but the food I've found to feed my constantly-hungry self while at work.

Yes, I do have different priority than most, y'all. Food is always either first or second place on my daily agenda. I'm not cut out for adult-ing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Veggie lunch delivery Pt. 2 shall continue at later date. This post is my review for a cheap vegan eatery I found nearby my workplace.

Vegan in Ho Chi Minh City: Veg Lunch Delivery Pt. 1

Long time no blog, I try to at least have one post up every month, so here I am in August.

I started interning for an online magazine right now - don't ask, it's meh. Anyway, working means I need to think about lunch. I can cook and bring my own lunch, but who am I kidding? I'm lazy AF. Not to mention cooking for my own lonesome self isn't worth the effort - yes, I seriously lack motivation. I mean I do cook once in awhile, but not all the time.

Thus since bringing my own lunch is often out of the equation, I have found some places that deliver veggie food. Time to share!

View from my flat. Pretty neat, eh?

Quick Update

I apologise for not posting much lately.

I have been having some personal issues, which are causing me a great deal of stress and anxiety. My self-esteem is hitting a new low. I thought getting over eating disorders was the last hurdle I needed to truly love myself, but I'm wrong. Achieving self-love is a constant journey that I am still learning.

Thus, I need time for myself.

I will resume writing more regularly when I feel a little better. I don't stop altogether, just might take me longer to post something new.

Sorry, people. My head is not in a right place at the moment.

Vegan in Ho Chi Minh City: Loving Hut Hoa Đăng

Loving Hut (LH) is vegans' most reliable eatery while travelling. They have a branch or two in most cities around the world. I once wrote about the branch in Hanoi (read here). Today, the spotlight shines on the one in Saigon.

*NOTE* Those little steamed rice cakes wrapped in leaves in the photo above are there for you to eat, but you are charged for how many you actually consume. Just a little heads-up for you guys.

Moved In!

As you have noticed, there was a month-long gap between the last post and the one before it. My apology, especially when I've been trying to write more often. Oops. Things have been a little busy lately as I moved into my new apartment over a month ago! This means a whole lot of cooking and baking is going to take place from now on!

[CLOSED] Vegan in Ho Chi Minh City: Đóa Sen Vàng Didn't Deliver This Time

*UPDATE (13/07/2017): Đóa Sen Vàng branch in District 10 is now CLOSED!*

If you follow my blog, Đóa Sen Vàng probably sounds familiar because I wrote about it already (here). However, this post is different from the last as this one is no longer of me raving about how great the food at this restaurant is. Not all bad, but I just think a short review is necessary.

Vegan in Ho Chi Minh City: Happy Birthday? No Such Thing

Ah, yes, the 14th of February is Valentine's Day. It's also my birthday. I don't get excited about birthdays all that much, especially my own 😂  It's just another day. No more, no less. Nevertheless, I do love food, so why pass an opportunity to treat mah self. Step aside, V day. It's C day 😎  (because for those who don't know, my name is Cici)

Holiday Time with Family in Phu Quoc

I was in Hanoi for the Lunar New Year, then went to Phú Quốc for a few days before heading to Saigon again yesterday.

A few brief luxury chilled days with my family at JW Marriott Phu Quoc. Let's do a little review of my stay. Nah, man, I'm not rich. Shit, if being unemployed could get you rich, everyone would quit their job haha. No, my father just happens to know the right people, so we got invited there. Talk about the power of networking, eh? This talent suddenly hasn't been passed onto me as I'm a antisocial, thus can't stand most - seriously, most - people hehe 👽

Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year, guys!

This year is the year of chicken 🐓 😁

Oh, and yeah, it's Lunar New Year, not Chinese New Year. China doesn't own the bloody holiday. We call it Tết in Vietnam.

More Vegan Deliciousness in Singapore

I wrote a post about vegan eats in Singapore awhile ago (here). Time to add some more to the eat list. We all need variety.

My Safe Place in Bangkok: VEGANERIE

Oh, hello, 2017! First post of of the new year 😸

Alrighty, so you ARE going to be drooling and licking the screen after reading this post. Oh, and hate me to for making you hungry, too, but I gotta do what I gotta do 😌

You have been warned hehe.
