Food Review #3

Remember these stuff from this post?

Well, to keep it short and sweet, they're all great!

  • Mrs. Crimble's Dutch Apple Cake: so gooood! It's so cinnamon-y which can never go wrong! So moist, too! Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, and you're all set!
  • Holland & Barrett Soya: I can't say there's much different from any other brands out there. It's not bad by any means though :)
  • Nākd: I'm in love with these bars seriously! They are so tasty, and great as a snack during break or when studying in the library like me. My favourite out of this lot definitely has to be the cashew cookie one <3 Ever since I tried it, I have bought probably eight more of that one haha ^.^
  • Panda Raspberry Licorice: It's definitely not a strong liquorice. I could hardly taste it. Quite like it. I'm gonna try other flavours next time to see which one is the best :)
  • Discovery Foods Ltd. Garlic & Herb Tortillas: Just like any other tortillas really. I'm not saying I don't like it, but it's one of those food that doesn't usually stand out as the best.
Hope you like this post! :)

A quick update

I'm using Instagram now. It's quite useful because I can snap photos quickly right after I finish cooking something or just take photos of snack and food and upload it right away.

Vegan cottage pie! Oh it was so so so amazingly great!

Apples and peanut butter. Classic :)

Oven-cooked risotto with aubergines, leeks, onions, and "cheese". I had never made risotto this way before as well, so I was amazed at how delicious it turned out at the end! ^.^

Stir-fried aubergines and leeks served with couscous! Simple and tasty!

So follow me cicixtran for more vegan food photos :)

Food Review #2

Apologise for taking so long to have this post.

Let's start! I will have my reviews about the vegan goodies from this post as well as some other stuff not featured that post.

I will keep this post short and put to-the-point reviews into the caption

I'm gonna need to buy this again. Enough said :)

It is vegan-friendly: Another Casual Food Shop

I am so sorry for not being on here. My workload at university this year is horrible. I have tests to do and stuff, so haven't been able to have my Food Review#2 post. I will fix that as soon as possible though, so please bare with me.

Anyway, to keep the blog going, I'm going to post some vegan foodie goodie that I just bought today! And yes, most of them are from Holland & Barrett :D (I'm so hooked on them now haha)

Sunday roast!... And two unexpected visitors!

Today must be one of my happiest days!

First reason: My housemates and I had a Sunday roast for lunch today. It was pretty damn delicious!

My housemate, she even wrote down the plan haha
Well, as you can see from the picture above that not all my housemates are vegetarians or vegan. There are six of us, and only me is vegan, and one other housemate is vegetarian. Nevertheless, the meal was amazing!

It is vegan-friendly: Holland & Barrett #2

From the title, it is obvious that I paid another visit to Holland & Barrett earlier today actually. I got a coupon, so I mean why not get some food!

After browsing about, I finally purchased the following goods (oh, I will not include stuff that I posted last time, just the new ones):

  • Mamma Cucina - Vegetable Pizza

Food Review #1

Remember my post about all the yummy-looking food I bought at Holland & Barrett? If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then here's that post.

Anyway, in that post I mentioned that I hadn't tried all the food, but now I have! Just thought that I should give my opinions about it. I'm not going to write long review because well, I like keeping things simple, and what is the point in writing it too long, not like I'm writing an essay.

So here are my reviews:
  • Tofutti - Creamy Smooth 8 "Mozzarella Style" Cheese Slices: I'm not a fan. It's quite salty for my taste. Buy this one if you like your food salty.
  • Mamma Cucina - Mouth Watering Mango and Passion Fruit Non-Dairy Cheesecake: Wow this cake is so delicious! Creamy and rich. Plus the mango and passionfruit blended so well together that gives out a lovely fruity scent when you open the package. It is truly 'mouthwatering' as written on the package! Highly recommend you all to go buy it!
  • The Redwood Co. - Cheezly and Tomato Pizza: Taste really good though it might leave you feeling a bit guilty eating the whole pizza. Hey, what the hell, right? Look at the size of the thing! :P

Now, let's move on to some other vegan yummy stuff that I recently purchased:
  • Sainsbury's 'Be Good To Yourself' Guacamole: I can't believe I didn't bought this delicious product before! Seriously, it taste so so so amazing! The richness of avocado and the mild spiciness of jalapeño pepper make the sauce so perfect! Classified as Vegan by Sainsbury's as well.

It is vegan-friendly: Holland & Barrett

I paid a visit to Holland & Barret this afternoon, and woah, they have such a great range of vegan products! Alright, well, not a great great range, but better than at Sainsbury's or any other supermarkets in the UK (in my opinion).

Let's move on to what I bought:

It is vegan-friendly: Sacla'

I love eating pasta! Yes, I do. It is simple and filling! Who wouldn't like it? But you need the right sauce to make it right. Well, Sacla' is a company which produces products such as pesto and Italian sauces. They are very very yummy!

I emailed them yesterday to ask whether their products are vegan-friendly, and just got their response today. Good news! They do have some sauces which are vegan! I am so relieved and happy to learn this! They sent me a whole list of all vegan and vegetarian products :)

Monday, 10 September 2012

Hey there!

I'm new to this (obviously).

My name is Nga Tran, but I usually go with Cici Tran, so call me Cici. I'm from Hanoi, Vietnam. I'm currently studying in Lancaster, United Kingdom. I have been in the UK for more than three years now.

Anyhow, I have recently turned vegan, so just thought that it might be a good idea to create a blog to keep track of what I learn about it (which is a lot by the way). Off the top of my head, my blog will feature vegan cosmetics products, food and some other random stuff which may or may not relate to veganism.

It's going to take awhile for me to really get started with blog, so for now, just check out my Tumblr and Twitter.
